Remote Student Services

The fastest and easiest way for most students to access student services is by remote. Our services are responding to emails and answering their phone lines remotely, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday. Many also offer video chat appointments or drop-in hours.

Some student services are also offering limited, by-appointment in-person appointments the week of August 24. Please only attempt to make an appointment if your needs absolutely cannot be met online.

If You Need Food

If You Don’t Have A Safe Place to Live

  • Call 211, text HOPE to 20121 or visit a walk-in care center.
  • If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, call 1.800.799.7233 to connect with the National Domestic Violence Hotline, or test LOVEIS to 22522 to text a trained counselor.

If You Need to See a Doctor

  • If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms of respiratory illness, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your health care provider. You can usually find their contact information on the back of your insurance card. If you do not have a provider, call the Contra Costa Health Service Advice Nurse at 1.877.661.6230 and select option one.
  • To sign up for health insurance, visit Help on Demand at Covered California.
  • If it is a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1.

  • More flexible grading and withdrawal options are available to students who have been impacted by the switch to remote learning. Please speak with a counselor, admissions and records and financial aid to more fully understand the ramifications before you make a decision.
  • Office hours will be held through Zoom, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Wednesday 9:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Transcripts will still be available through Credentials, through the InSite Portal. Rush option will still be available, but unfortunately, express will not.

International Students

  • The Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have rescinded the July 6 SEVP Guidance, which would have prohibited international students residing in the U.S. from taking online-only courses.
  • We are still planning for a combination of fully online and hybrid (partially online and partially on campus) courses for Fall 2020.
  • Current international students must continue to maintain a full course of study (12 units) throughout the fall semester, even if they are outside of the U.S.
  • Future international students admitted for Fall 2020 may either enroll in online classes from abroad during their first semester or defer enrollment to the Spring 2021 semester.
  • International students transferring from U.S. institutions may enroll in online classes while continuing to live in the U.S.
  • Email for anything related to international students.

  • Students on academic and/or progress probation may work with this office via Zoom and phone.
  • We are currently working on making all required forms fillable, so they may be completed and returned online.
  • Individual remote appointments are available. Email or call to make one.
  • Reinstatement and probation workshops will be available three times per week, via Zoom. You can sign up for a workshop online. After you do, our office will call you to confirm that you have access to your campus email. You must be able to access that in order to participate in the teleconference and also to receive the documents necessary to complete the workshop.
  • All the worksheets/flyers will be sent to you via InSite email.

Tutoring

  • Drop-in online tutoring is happening for all the usual courses, Monday – Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Booked appointments are also available Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Online tutoring is mobile-friendly.
