Veterans Services
We are honored that you have chosen Contra Costa College to begin or continue your education after your service to our country. Our goal is to provide you with an array of services that will support your successful transition from the military into civilian life and the academic arena.
Student Veteran Resource Center
Student veterans can come and meet with an adviser or just “hang out” in the new Student Veteran Resource Center (SVRC) located Student & Administration Building, Room 112. The SVRC is a place for students to find information on GI Bill® benefits, student services, and community organizations that are dedicated to assisting veterans. It is also a place for veterans to just network, do homework, or use a computer.
The SVRC is staffed by Veteran Peer Advisers, Community Program Advocates and Certifying Officials. Peer Advisers are Contra Costa College students who understand the unique circumstances and challenges that student veterans face because they are veterans themselves. They are specially trained to assist students in identifying relevant programs and resources that are available on campus and in the community. Resources are available on a variety of issues including employment, counseling, housing, and healthcare.
There is also a Veterans Club to help students veterans further connect with and support one another. More information is available in the SVRC.
Student veterans can also make an appointment with a counselor through the Counseling Office in the Student Services Center.
