Counselors at Contra Costa College work collaboratively with students to provide academic, vocational, career, and personal counseling. We foster and encourage your learning, through self-exploration and awareness.
In-Person and Remote Services Available:
In-person sessions are available daily by appointment and during limited drop-in times. For same day appointments or drop-ins, please call the counseling office for availability.
Remote and drop-in appointments are available by Zoom or phone.

In-Person Appointments are held in SSC 108. Due to small office space students may be asked to mask during appointments. Masks will be provided. Phone Appointments: A counselor will call students the day/time of their scheduled appointment. Please schedule a phone appointment online or call 510.215.3935. You can also make an appointment through counseling Canvas, the Canvas Comet Support Hub or the Insite Plan + Progress tile.
Zoom Appointments: These are video or audio appointments. Students will receive an email appointment confirmation with the zoom link and phone number to access their zoom appointment. Students can visit the Zoom link for video. For audio use students can call the number provided. Please schedule a Zoom appointment online.
Drop-ins: By zoom or phone on Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m (subject to change). If students select zoom, they will receive an email confirmation with the zoom link for video access and phone number for audio access. If students select phone, a Counselor will contact the student by phone. Please add your name to the drop-in online or call 510.215.3935.
Our drop-in counseling is a 10-minute Live Chat session with a CCC counselor.
This option is appropriate for brief, quick questions such as:

- General questions related to certificates, degrees, programs and transfer information

- Contra Costa College offers free psychotherapy. Free, confidential individual and specialized group therapy is conveniently located on the CCC campus. Our interns and therapists are warm, caring and available by appointment. To access this service, complete the intake form. You will receive a call within 48 to 82 hours to schedule an appointment.
- Student Confidential Assistance Program
- This service can help you manage a broad range of challenges–from everyday hassles to serious emotional health issues. They can help with things like stress and anxiety, grief and depression, substance abuse, domestic violence and family and relationship issues. Eligible members are entitled to as many telephone or web-video consultations as needed, and five face-to-face clinical counseling sessions per incident, per calendar year for free. Come in during our drop-in hours. If you plan on coming in the afternoon, please call the office before you leave work or home to find out what the wait time is.
- The last student on the list must be seen 15 minutes before closing the drop-in.
- Drop-ins are only 15 minutes per student for quick questions only.
- Drop-in hours are subject to change.
- For visits that might take longer than 15 minutes, be sure to make an appointment. Financial aid appeals, reinstatements, and educational plans will require appointments.
