Speech + Debate at CCC
Contra Costa College offers a unique opportunity for students who are interested in speech and debate. The Speech and Debate team is both an extracurricular organization and an academic course (SPCH 160B) that trains students for intercollegiate competitions. Students can learn and practice various skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, argumentation, and research.
The team/class meets every Tuesday from 4 to 6 pm in room AA-219 on campus.
For students who prefer online learning, there is also a zoom link available for joining the meetings remotely. The zoom link is provided upon enrollment in the course or membership in the team. The meetings are recorded and accessible for students who cannot attend them live. They can watch them at their convenience and catch up with the team’s activities and assignments. The Speech and Debate team welcomes students of all levels and backgrounds who want to improve their communication skills and have fun.
