The Field

Automotive collision repair and refinish technicians perform structural and cosmetic repair of cars and trucks. If a vehicle has been in an accident, they fix the dents, scratches and other damage to return it to pre-accident condition. If the paint is faded or peeling, they refinish it.

They don’t just make cars look good. They also make sure they’re up to manufacturer safety standards.

The Outlook

Anywhere cars and trucks are on the road, people will need collision repair and refinish technicians. Demand is especially high right here in the Bay Area.

Most work in collision (also known as auto body) repair shops. But, others work for auto manufacturers, auto glass installers, or in entirely different settings.
