Students are placed in groups based on their grade and math level. Each group has access to tutors.
Younger children are enrolled in Los Pollitos, an early literacy group that helps preschool through 3rd grade students achieve 3rd grade reading standards. This is a separate component of the program, which also requires parents to join the parent group while their children attend.
Older students are enrolled in tutoring and academic enrichment courses, where instructors lead specialized curriculum. They may also attend workshops and qualify for scholarships, internships and community service opportunities.
High school students also receive support with college-related processes, like filling out college, financial aid and scholarship applications and writing personal statements.
The Metas Parent Group helps parents support their children’s educational goals. Pollitos participants must join this group, but it is open to other parents, as well.
All pre-K through 12th grade students are eligible to enroll and fully benefit from what Metas has to offer.
Metas participants must complete the orientation, attend the first meeting and commit to not missing more than two future meetings.
