Genealogy for Beginners Workshop

Do you want to make a family tree, but don’t know where to start?

Genealogy research can seem intimidating, but doesn’t need to be. You already have the necessary information about your immediate family. We can help you build on that. One of the hardest parts is just getting started.

Retired librarian Ellen Geringer will demonstrate how to use several popular online genealogy resources, provide search tips, and show how to document and keep track of what you find. Ellen is not a professional genealogist, but she is an avid hobbyist with over 25 years of experience as a reference librarian.

There will be plenty of hands-on time for you to work on your family tree under her guidance.
