New Social Justice, Real Estate and Paramedic Programs Come to CCC

This fall, Contra Costa College will be launching and expanding programs in three academic areas.

A new paramedic program will train licensed Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for higher-level jobs in the emergency medical services. As the only program of its kind in Contra Costa County, it will serve students from throughout the area, as well as graduates of CCC’s existing Emergency Medical Technician certificate program.

The Associate in Arts Transfer Degree in Social Justice: Latino and Chicano Studies will immerse students in an in-depth, interdisciplinary analysis of the Latino and Chicano experience. It will also incorporate the first LGBT studies course in Contra Costa College’s 70-year history.

As with all transfer degrees CCC offers, the social justice program can guarantee admission to the CSU system, and comes with other perks, like junior standing for those who transfer into a similar program, and sometimes even a GPA boost for those applying to a competitive school.

And, CCC will be expanding its popular real estate program to offer both a certificate of achievement and associate degree. These tracks will allow future and current real estate agents to gain a more robust education and build more competitive resumes.

The programs will be joining the ranks of over 125 degrees and certificates already offered by Contra Costa College across dozens of fields. Check out the college’s academic departments for more information about any of the school’s offerings.
