Beyond the classroom, CCC offers a vibrant campus life with athletics and rich cultural and artistic activities year-round. Our football program has launched the careers of numerous NFL players, while our arts departments consistently earn national acclaim—including multiple DownBeat Magazine awards for our Music Department and honors from the Kennedy Center for our Drama Department. Additionally, our journalism graduates include Pulitzer Prize winners, and our student newspaper, The Advocate, remains the most-awarded two-year student media outlet in history.
CCC is also a trailblazer in STEM education. We were the first community college in the nation to secure a $2.5 million Department of Defense grant to establish our thriving Center for Science Excellence. Backed by a $68 million, state-of-the-art Science Center that opened in 2022, we continue to innovate—recently launching a groundbreaking, debt-free civil engineering program in Fall 2025. We are deeply committed to safeguarding college access; in fact, thanks to the generosity of the CCC Foundation, CCC completely eliminated the college debt of nearly 200 Spring 2026 graduates.
As a designated Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Serving Institution, Hispanic-Serving Institution, and one of California’s first Black-Serving Institutions, CCC deeply values and celebrates the diversity of our community.
