A. Dual Enrollment allows high school students to take CCC courses offered at their high school and earn both high school and college credit.

A. Students attending a participating high school in a formal CCAP partnership with CCC may enroll with principal or designee approval.

A. Dual Enrollment students can enroll in up to 15 units with no more than 4 courses in total per semester without being charged.

A. Dual Enrolled students are exempt from enrollment fees if enrolled in 15 units or less. You may still be responsible for student union fees and required materials.

A. In many cases, no. High school students in Dual Enrollment who are classified as non‑residents may qualify for the SB150 waiver, which exempts them from paying non‑resident tuition while they are still enrolled in high school. Eligibility is determined by Contra Costa College Admissions and Records.

A. Yes. All Dual Enrollment coursework taken at CCC becomes a permanent part of your college academic history and may count for high school credit as determined by your school.

A. Talk with your high school counselor, complete the required form in InSite, and follow CCC’s enrollment process.

A. Yes. You are responsible for dropping a class before deadlines by updating your course registration in InSite or through Admissions and Records.


A. Concurrent Enrollment lets you take CCC classes on your own time – after school, online, Saturdays, or during breaks – while still enrolled in high school.

A. You must be at least eligible in grade level (typically after 8th grade) and follow CCC’s Special Admit process.

A. Yes. Complete the Special Admit Form in InSite with signatures from your parent/guardian and school representative before you can register.

A. Concurrent students are subject to unit limits set by CCC policy, and waivers may be required if you plan to take more units than the standard limit.

A. Concurrent enrollment students are exempt from enrollment fees if under a unit threshold, but must pay student union, activity, and representation fees unless refunded.

A. Not all classes are open to high school students; CCC may restrict access based on health, safety, or instructional requirements.


A. Talk with your student about their goals, help them communicate with their counselor, and ensure all enrollment forms are completed correctly.

A. Special Admit students are treated like every other college student. All college coursework is governed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) which allows release of academic information, including grades, to the student only – regardless of age.

Academic information is not released to parents or third parties without written consent of the student. Information is only released to the authorized party in person or in writing. To give consent to anyone other than a parent/guardian, students must complete a Student Consent for Access to Education Records form and submit to the Admissions and Records Office in the Student Services Center at Contra Costa College (SSC-115)

A. Yes. Parent or guardian signatures are required on enrollment forms submitted through InSite.

A. That decision is up to your student’s school district. Check with your high school counselor to confirm how CCC coursework will count.

A. Dual enrollment students can email earlycollegecredit@contracosta.edu with enrollment questions or to request assistance.

A. Counselors help students choose appropriate courses, approve enrollment forms, and ensure prerequisites and school credit planning align with student goals.

A. Students submit required forms through InSite, routed to the counselor or designee for approval and then to CCC Admissions and Records.

A. Yes. Students may participate in both programs in the same term as long as all program requirements and unit limits are met.

A. Yes. To offer Dual Enrollment at your school site, contact earlycollegecredit@contracosta.edu to inquire about a CCAP agreement with Contra Costa College.
