Susan Lee

Dr. Lee spent 44 years of her professional career in education beginning at Oakland Unified School District after graduating from college in 1973. While at the OUSD she taught preschool and then administered programs at three Child Development Centers for 17 years. In 1989, Dr. Lee left Oakland to take a full-time faculty teaching position at Contra Costa College, which included supervising the campus Lab School for the Department of Early Childhood Education. Before retiring in 2017, she served as a Dean of Instruction for her last 10 years at CCC. 

She holds a BA in Sociology from California State University, San Jose, an MS in Education – School Management and Supervision from Pepperdine University, an MA in Early Childhood Education from California State University, San Francisco, and an EdD in Early Childhood Education from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Lee looks back at her entire teaching career and feels grateful and blessed to have chosen a career that she loved waking up to every day of her career.
