Jay Gill was born in Villa Teja, Dist. Gurdaspur Pb. India in 1944. He earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Pharmacy in Chandigarh, India. Jay immigrated to the United States in 1972, where he lived and worked in New Jersey until 1978 before moving to Hayward, CA. Jay worked at various companies on the East and West coasts in the USA starting as a Pilot Plant Technician and worked his way up to become Vice President of Research & Development and Manufacturing.
Jay, along with his sons, founded a company named Sun Deep Cosmetics in 1987 and it became fully operational in 1989 when Jay left Carme, Inc. to become a full time CEO of his own company in 1989. Jay grew the company from 1 to 100 employees and the facility from 2,500 sq. ft. to 81,000 sq. ft. during his tenure at Sun Deep Cosmetics, retiring as CEO in 2025.
As a philanthropist and active community member, Jay is a Trustee of Guru Grant Sahib Foundation; he started a Sikh Center in Livermore; he has set up endowments and provided many scholarships through a large variety of charities.
Jay has been an active CCCF Board of Directors member of since 2018, where he has donated and also raised funds for the Foundation, and is now in the process of establishing a large endowment at CCC.
Now retired, Jay spends time managing his real estate investments and traveling, having travelled to about 30 countries, world-wide.
