Beta Omega Gamma Chapter

Phi Theta Kappa, PTK, is an international honor society for high-achieving community college students. At Contra Costa College, the Beta Omega Gamma Chapter gives students opportunities to build leadership skills, connect with other students and faculty, apply for scholarships, and prepare for transfer, career, and future academic goals.

About PTK

When you join PTK, you become part of a community of motivated students who are working toward their associate degrees, transfer goals, career pathways, and long-term success.

PTK members can participate in campus and online activities, develop leadership experience, build professional skills, and connect with students, faculty, and PTK members at the local, regional, and national level.

Who Can Join

PTK membership is invitation-based. Students who receive an official PTK invitation have already met the eligibility requirements.

You may be eligible if you:

Have a 3.5 GPA or higher
Have completed the 12 units
Receive an official PTK invitation
Are currently enrolled at Contra Costa College

Students should check their college email regularly for official PTK invitation information.

How to Join

If you receive a PTK invitation, follow the link included in the invitation to complete your membership registration.

Membership includes a one-time fee. Eligible students may be able to receive help with the membership fee, including students in MESA, EOPS, or students receiving financial aid. Contact a PTK advisor for more information.

Why Join PTK?

Scholarships

PTK members can access scholarship opportunities for students planning to transfer, continue their education, or enter the workforce.

Leadership + Skill Building

PTK gives students opportunities to build skills through campus and online activities, including public speaking, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork, and professional development.

Networking

PTK helps students connect with other students, faculty members, and PTK members on campus and beyond. PTK members are also able to attend conferences every semester.

Recognition

Active PTK members may be eligible for additional recognition and support, including letters of recommendation from faculty advisors or PTK headquarters.
