MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) at Contra Costa College is part of a statewide program that helps underserved and underrepresented students majoring in calculus-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields who seek to transfer to a four-year institution. MESA at CCC is a dynamic program that provides academic support and enrichment in STEM courses to students so they can achieve their academic and career goals in a STEM field. The program is a vibrant community of students, faculty and STEM professionals working together to empower our STEM students.

Joining MESA at CCC will allow you to get access to benefits that include:

Access to our dedicated MESA Study Hub for studying and networking
Meeting with STEM-focused counselors
Tutoring, transfer assistance, leadership training, and scholarships and internship information
Academic workshops
Collaboration with other MESA programs and partners

MESA Student Eligibility

To be eligible for MESA, a student must:

be a US Citizen/Permanent resident/ AB 540;
be on Financial Aid and a first generation college student;
be a declared calculus-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) major or be willing to declare; STEM major by the end of the term;
have completed intermediate algebra;
Working towards transfer to 4 year school and/or graduate with Associate degree(s)

If you are not a financial aid/first generation student and qualify for the rest of the MESA requirements, you are invited to join the “Friends of MESA” cohort.
