Geography

Geography explores the earth’s land, features, inhabitants, and phenomena from a spatial perspective, focusing on both physical and cultural aspects.

Most geographers work in one of two main branches of geography: physical and cultural. Physical geographers study natural elements like landforms and climates, while cultural geographers examine the spatial impact of human activities such as economic and political organization.

Our program emphasizes the use of advanced technologies like GIS, GPS, and remote sensing to analyze data and create maps that inform decisions on population growth, environmental issues, and urban planning.

Career opportunities include roles such as GIS specialist, urban planner, climatologist, and cartographer. Students in the program will learn to understand spatial patterns, the importance of culture, and how human activity shapes the landscape.

It amazes me. When I look back, I think, How did I do that? I don’t know how I did it. It was hard, but I’m happy about how it turned out.
