Rod Santos

Dean Santos comes to CCC with nearly 20 years of versatile higher education experience. He has held positions in student affairs, enrollment management, academic advising, counseling, first year experience, and instruction at the University of California, Berkeley, Davis, and Merced campuses, as well as Sacramento State University. Most recently, Dean Santos served as Interim Director of Student Outreach at San Francisco State University.

Throughout his career, he has been active in a number of committees that focus on equity, social justice, and student success. He also has professional experience in music, film, and geek culture and most recently worked on the documentary feature film “To Be Takei” starring entertainer and activist George Takei.

Rod holds an M.S. in counseling from Sacramento State; a B.S. in wildlife, fish & conservation biology; and a B.S. in psychology, both from UC Davis.
