“Contra Costa College has a great tradition of intercollegiate athletics and student success. We provide a great opportunity for West County student athletes to compete at the highest level of two year College athletic competition in the Bay Valley Conference and at the State level.

We want student athletes who put Academics, the Community, and Contra Costa College first while having pride in being a COMET! We want students who can appreciate the total College experience, both academically and athletically that we offer at CCC!! We want you to take the challenge of being a COMET and join our family!!”

About Mr. Wade

John H. Wade II, Contra Costa College Athletic Director, came to CCC from the University of San Francisco. He has extensive knowledge of intercollegiate athletics having served for years as a coach at the four year and Division I level: Eastern Washington University (1983-88), University of the Pacific in Stockton (1988-1990), Eastern Washington University (1990-1995), University of California, Santa Barbara (1995-1997) and University of San Francisco (1997-2001).

While Athletic Director at Contra Costa College, John has served as Bay Valley Conference Administrative Representative for Women’s Basketball, Women’s Volleyball, and Men’s Basketball. He has been the President of the Bay Valley Conference 2007-2009 and is currently the President for the Bay Valley Conference (BVC) for the Northern California Football Association (NCFA).
