COVID-19 Information for Spring 2022
In anticipation of the start of our Spring 2022 semester, we would like our students, staff, and community planning to physically visit our campus to know what requirements we have put in place to help mitigate the curve of the continued COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to update this page as we receive additional information from local, state, and federal agencies.

Requirements by Group:
Students
On-Campus Requirements
- Masks are required for all indoor activities.
- Students planning to enroll in an in-person class in 2022 are required to be vaccinated or have an approved medical or religious exemption. Students who are attending only online courses for the 2022-2023 school year and who will not be visiting the campus may choose not to upload their vaccine information.
- Anyone planning to come to campus to use in-person student support services 2022 are required to be vaccinated or have an approved exemption.
- Restaurants and food services – Only vaccinated individuals or those with a recent negative test may consume food indoors. Unvaccinated individuals without a recent negative test within the previous 72 hours may purchase food from indoor facilities and consume it outdoors (includes indoor dining at Aqua Terra or catering services provided at on-campus events).
- Indoor exercise classes and gym activities – Students and faculty must be fully vaccinated or have received a negative test within the last 72 hours. Outdoor courses and spectators at athletic events are not subject to the health order.
Daily Health Assessment
- Students must complete a daily health assessment at each site they visit on any given day, regardless of how much or how little time they spend at the site.
- Once every day, you are on a district site.
Weekly Testing
- Free testing is available Mondays and Thursdays from 10am to 1pm at the Student Lounge. Make an appointment today.
- Students with medical or religious exemptions must submit a weekly COVID-19 test through the CCCCD App. A testing site must administer tests; at-home tests will are not acceptable.
- Test results from county testing facilities and health care providers will be accepted and uploaded online through the CCCCD App.
Medical and Religious Exemptions
Students may request a medical or religious vaccine exception if one of the following situations apply:
- Medical excuse from receiving COVID-19 vaccine due to medical conditions or precaution – including disability or pregnancy (requires medical documentation).
- Religious objection based on a person’s sincerely held beliefs, practices, or observance.

Athletics
Athletics
Are there any specific requirements or protocols for athletics?
- CCC student-athletes are required to provide proof of vaccination.
- Unvaccinated athletes and athletics employees are required to undergo weekly COVID-19 testing.
- Masks are required for vaccinated and unvaccinated student-athletes when training/meeting indoors.
- All officials must show proof of vaccination or get tested weekly.
- Fans in stands will be allowed.
CCC Staff
On-Campus Requirements
- Regardless of primary work location, all employees are subject to the vaccine requirement and must submit proof of vaccination or receive an approved exception by November 15, 2021. On-going submissions are under review.

- All CCC employees must complete a daily health assessment through the CCCCD App before coming on to the campus.

Venders/Vistors

- Vendors providing food services must submit proof of vaccination for anyone interacting with food.
- Restaurants and food services – Only vaccinated individuals or those with a negative test may consume food indoors within the last 72 hours. Unvaccinated individuals without a recent negative test within the previous 72 hours may purchase food from indoor facilities and consume it outdoors (such as indoor dining at Aqua Terra or catering services provided at on-campus events).
- Indoor exercise classes and gym activities – Students and faculty must be fully vaccinated or have received a negative test within the last 72 hours. Outdoor courses and spectators at athletic events are not subject to the health order.

Using the CCCCD App
Downloading the App
- Apple Users
- Download CCCCD App through App Store
- Once installed, follow on-screen instructions to sign in.
- Android Users
- Download the Android App (APK) to access the CCCCD App (not available in the Google Play store yet; APK file download required)
- Select download location and run APK file.
- Some Android devices may require additional permissions to install the APK file
- Once installed, follow on-screen instructions to sign in.
Daily Health Assessments
- Upload COVID test results (if required because you have an approved exemption)
- Students and employees must complete a daily health assessment for COVID-19 symptoms found on the CCCCD App home screen before coming to campus. Completing the health assessment help determine if it is safe for you to be on campus and will display either:
- A green pass means you are clear to go on campus.
- A red pass means that you should stay home and follow the directions provided in your email.
Proof of Vaccination
- Students and employees must submit proof of vaccination through the CCCCD App unless they have received an approved medical or religious exemption.
- Using the CCCCD App home screen, select submit “Proof of Vaccination.”
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- Submit acceptable proof of vaccination.
- An image or screenshot of an Official California Digital COVID-19 Vaccination Record
- An original vaccination card showing the date(s) and types of immunization(s) received
- A form from a healthcare provider that documents the date(s) and types of vaccination(s) received
- Students and employees will have a pending campus pass that allows them to come on campus.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the current mask requirements?
Masks are required indoors regardless of a person’s vaccination status. This requirement does not apply to people in the following circumstances:
- Individuals are alone in a room
- Actively eating or drinking
- Swimming or showering
- When receiving care or other services that require removal of the face covering
- When exempt from wearing face coverings under the State Face Covering Guidance or other applicable California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidance.
Suppose a student is requesting a medical exemption from wearing a face covering. In that case, students should contact Disability Support Services/Disabled Students Programs & Services (DSS/DSPS) before coming on campus to request an accommodation.
If an employee requests a medical exemption from wearing a face covering, they should contact their supervisor before coming on campus to request an accommodation.
How will mask requirements be enforced for students/employees?
Students who forget to bring or wear a mask, they will be able to get a temporary mask in classrooms, division deans’ offices, and the Student Services Center. If a student repeatedly fails to comply or refuses to comply with mask requirements, they will be subject to the college’s code of conduct.
Employees who forget to bring or wear a mask, they will be able to get an N-95 mask in the dean’s office. If an employee repeatedly fails to comply or refuses to comply with mask requirements, they will be directed to leave the worksite and their supervisor will notify human resources immediately.
Will masks be available on campus for students/employees?
Students can find paper masks in classrooms, division deans’ offices, and the Student Services Center.
Per CalOSHA requirements, N-95 masks will be available for employees in the deans’ offices.
What do I do if I begin to feel sick on-campus?
If you begin to feel sick while on-campus, leave campus immediately and seek medical attention. All students/employees should report to their instructor(s)/supervisor if they are experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms or test positive for COVID-19.
What happens if I have been exposed to or test positive for COVID-19?
If you have been in close contact (for 15 minutes within 6 feet) or test positive for COVID-19, contact your instructor(s)/supervisor so that contact tracing may begin immediately.
Will confidentiality be maintained if I report testing positive for COVID-19?
Contra Costa College maintains all confidentiality per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable federal and state laws.
How long do I have to self-quarantine?
- Fully vaccinated individuals should quarantine only if symptomatic or with a positive test. (Fully vaccinated means last dose of any of the three vaccines received at least two weeks prior.)
- Unvaccinated individuals should quarantine after a confirmed close contact with COVID-19 positive (Close contact means 15 minutes within six feet.
What will happen if I do not comply with college policies?
Individuals who do not comply with college policies will be subject to disciplinary policies.
Will we be notified if there are cases of COVID-19 on campus?
Any students or employees identified through contact tracing shown to have been exposed to a COVID-19 infection will receive a notification.
