FAST TRACK


A Teacher Preparation program at CSU Hayward, Concord Campus which allows students who transfer from Contra Costa Community College with specified courses to transfer to the FaskTrack program and obtain their Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Bachelor's Degree at the same time. Dual Admissions Program (DAP)

DAP is a joint transfer program with Cal State University Hayward (CSUH), www.csuhayward.edu , and the community college districts in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. DAP is intended for recent high school graduates who are first-time college students and wish to begin a BA/BS degree at a community college and complete their undergraduate education at CSUH. Students have up to 5 years to complete the transfer requirements. Upon completion, students are guaranteed admissions and the $55 application fee is waived.


Transfer Admission Agreement (TAA)

A TAA is a written contract that guarantees a community college transfer student admissions to a four-year college or university. Contra Costa College (CCC) has a TAA with UC Davis, www.ucdavis.edu. A student is eligible for a TAA when they have completed 30 transferable semester units with at least a 2.8 GPA (with the exception of Engineering, Computer Science, and Psychology majors). TAA's are written one year prior to the student transferring.


Guaranteed Admission for Transfer Entry (GATE)

GATE is a program that guarantees community college transfer students admission to UC Santa Cruz http://www.ucsc.edu/public/Default.asp. Students are eligible for the GATE program when they have completed 30 transferable semester units with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.8. This transfer program is available for majors in the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, as well as the Computer Science major.


Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)

TAG is a program that guarantees community college transfer students admission to UC Riverside http://www.ucr.edu/. Students are eligible for the TAG program when they have completed 30 transferable semester units with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.8. TAG is available for majors in the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, as well as the Computer Science major. UCR accepts students into Biological Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, and Chemistry for the Fall Quarter only.


 

Concurrent Enrollment Program

The Concurrent Enrollment Program allows CCC students to attend a specific four-year college or university while being enrolled at CCC. The institutions are UC Berkeley , www.berkeley.edu , Mills College , www.mills.edu Cal State University Hayward , www.csuhayward.edu and John F. Kennedy University , www.jfku.edu To participate, a CCC student must have completed at least 20 transferable units with at minimum GPA of 2.4, and the necessary prerequisite for the course they wish to take at the four-year institution. Students can enroll in one lower division course per semester at the four-year institution.


Transfer Olympic Program (TOP)

TOP is an inclusive program committed to serving all students at CCC. The primary focus is to provide services to facilitate the transfer preparedness of underrepresented groups. Students enter TOP at various levels. Students are identified and targeted by their stated educational goal, transferable units, and transferable courses successfully completed. Specific tasks are expected to be completed at different levels. The student's progress is tracked while they participate in TOP until the final transfer point is achieved.


Cooperative Admissions Program (CAP)

A redirected program for students who are eligible and apply to UC Berkeley, www. berkeley.edu as a freshman. Students may be given an option to attend a community college that participates in CAP with UCB, meet the transfer requirements, and be guaranteed admissions to UCB, College of Letters & Science, into a major of their choice.


On-Site-Admissions

San Francisco State, www.sfsu.edu and Cal State University Hayward, www.csuhayward.edu offer this activity to CCC students who are prepared to transfer. Students who are ready to transfer can bring in a completed admissions application, the application fee or a fee waiver, and unofficial copies of all college records, and be admitted, conditionally, on-the-spot at CCC.


Center for Science Excellence (CSE)

The purpose of CSE is to provide a solid foundation in the areas of science, mathematics, and engineering, and to increase the number of underrepresented students who study these disciplines; and to transfer well-prepared students majoring in these disciplines to a four-year college or university.
