PETITION FOR DEGREE OR CERTIFICATE
Petition for Degree/Certificate
Associate Degrees and Certificates of Achievement or Completion are awarded at the end of each term (fall, spring and summer). The annual commencement is held on the last day of spring term, in May of each year.
Deadlines for filing the Application for Degree/Certificate:
Spring 2010 Semester: 05/28/10*
Summer 2010 Session: 08/05/10
Fall 2010 Semester: 12/19/10
Spring 2011 Semester: 05/27/11 *
2010 Contra Costa College Commencement: May 28, 2010
*Petitions must be filed by Feb 28th for participation in May commencement exercises.
Those students who complete the requirements for graduation during the summer session or fall semester may participate in commencement at the end of the following Spring term.
You will be notified by mail regarding the outcome of your Petition. It is strongly advised that you meet with a counselor prior to submitting your Application for Degree/Certificate to Admissions & Records.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Unit Requirements: Students must complete at least 60 units with a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Courses designated with the letter "N" preceding the course number are not degree applicable courses.
Residency requirements: A minimum of 12 units must be taken at Contra Costa College.
Major requirements: Each degree and certificate program specifies courses required for the major (please see college catalog). Students must complete these courses with a grade of C or better.
Note: Official transcripts from all colleges attended must be on file in the Admissions Office.
