The Contra Costa College Skills Center web site is a useful resource for students, faculty, and staff at the college. Click on the blue links above for quick access to sites and use the buttons at the left to go to other pages at this site.

New at the CSC

The Skills Center recently installed 12 new iMacs, bringing the total of Macintosh computers to 20 iMacs, 4 G3's and G4's, and 4 of the older Performas. The new machines are great internet computers and they host Skills Bank and a large collection of other computer-aided instruction programs. The 4 larger Macs can also run as Windows machines and they are equipped with floppy drives. If you need to use a floppy disk with an iMac, ask at the counter.

The Smart Classroom

The Classroom/Lab is equipped with 22 Dell computers for student use and 1 instructors' station. That machine is connected to a new NEC projector allowing everyone in the room to see a 7 foot wide, crystal clear image from a computer, video, or DVD player. The room now has surround sound too. Instructors can reserve this room and bring in their classes.

Check In and Out

Students who use the lab have their names and student ID numbers in the center's database. If your name is not in the computer, show us a printout of your courses and we will add you. Get a printout from H-42 if you don't have one. We require that all students who use the lab be currently enrolled at Contra Costa College. You must check in and check out each time you use the lab.
