Steps to become a matriculated student:
Complete an Admissions Application and submit it to the
Office of Admissions and Records, Humanities Building, Room
42. Attend Orientation. Orientation is designed to provide
you with a wealth of information on Contra Costa College's
policies, procedures, programs, and support services that
will assist you in setting up a path to success. Check with
the Counseling Office for the orientation schedule. Assessment of new students is required in the areas of
reading, writing, and math. Assessment will provide you with
a realistic understanding of the student's skills in these
areas. The information you receive will help in selecting
courses that best match your skills and preparation. Attend Group Program Planning/Counseling. Upon completion
of orientation and assessment, the student is ready to meet
with a counselor to discuss an educational plan for the
upcoming term. The Group Program Planning session helps
students to understand the assessment results and the
counselor(s) assist with selecting appropriate courses for
the upcoming term. Register for courses either by calling the automated
telephone registration system or in the Admissions and
Records Office, located in the Humanities Building, Room
42.
