The shelves that hold the books that can be checked out of the library are known as the "stacks." Each row of shelves in the Library is numbered -- the shelves in the "stacks" are numbered 1 - 26 .

Books are arranged on the shelves in call number order. The books on Row #2 (remember that Row #1 holds the special collections) have call numbers that begin with the letter "A." As you walk towards the far end of the Library, the letters of the call numbers will progress towards "Z."

This Information Stop shows you the stacks located under the mezzanine. The stacks continue in the rows out in the main room of the Library, as you will see in the following Information Stops.
