INFORMATION STOP A-2
Reserves
are one of the collections housed behind the Circulation
Desk.
Course Reserve
items have been "reserved" by instructors for library-only use, so that
everyone in a class has access to them. This collection may include textbooks, lab manuals, solution guides, article reprints, old tests, telecourse videos, and some reference materials.
General Reserves
include the college
district's board agendas and reports, accreditation studies, local
city council minutes, and some frequently-used and/or valuable reference books.
Most reserve items are
for 2-hour use in the library only. Some reserve items may be checked out overnight. (See the
Circulation
page for additional information.)
Use a computer or the
terminal on the Circulation Desk to find the call number of the item you need, or
ask the reference librarian to show you how to search for Reserves. In the image
below, a box is drawn around the call number in the first 2 results on the list.
If you wanted the book Essential Biology, you would ask the Circulation
Desk staff for book 7.16.
