INFORMATION STOP Q
The CURRENT PERIODICAL
STANDS are between the Reference Desk and the windows. These 2-sided magazine
display units house the most recent issues of the Library's magazine and journal
subscriptions.
The current
issues are shelved face-out in
alphabetical order by title. (NOTE: A few popular titles are kept on Reserve at the Circulation
Desk.)
The most current issues are for library-use only.
The angled
display shelf is a hatch. Lift upwards to see the older issues for the
same magazine or journal. Older issues can be checked out of the Library.
The number of older issues stored varies,
depending on how often a title is published -- weekly, monthly,
bi-monthly, quarterly.
If you need an issue that is older than what you find, check with the
reference librarian. Some titles may be contained in one of the library's
online databases or on microfilm.
NOTE: Most back issues, including bound volumes, are stored behind the
Circulation Desk. Fill out a request for these issues at the Circulation
Desk, providing magazine/journal title and date of the issue needed. Bound
volumes must be used in the Library; the other back issues may be checked
out for home use. |
