The two slanted-top cabinets near the Periodical Display racks are the atlas cases. Most atlases are too large to fit easily onto standard library shelves, so they have their own cabinet, with trays that slide out. In addition to showing geographical and political boundaries, some atlases also show economic, climatic, population, and other types of information. |
