MEDIA SERVICES is a department of the CCC Library. It provides audiovisual equipment for use in the classrooms; maintains the instructional Media Lab; and purchases programs and equipment under the direction of the Media Librarian. ORDERING EQUIPMENT: A variety of equipment is available for use on campus; most (but not all) items are available for college-related use at off-campus sites. Services include: Scheduling & Delivery, Training, Live Videotaping, Off-air Recording (unavailable during library remodel), and Tape Duplication. See the Equipment Distribution page for more information and/or to schedule equipment. INSTRUCTIONAL MEDIA LAB: As of August 2005, Media Lab programs are circulated via the Library's Circulation Desk. The Media Lab itself is located in the center of the Library's main room. It provides the equipment used by students to view/hear the library's non-print materials. The media collection includes audiocassettes, compact discs, CD-ROM's, DVD's, 16mm films, slides and videotapes. These materials are for the use of campus faculty, staff, and students. Students may not check out media items for home use; they may view them in the Media Lab. Programs are listed in the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog), the Media Collection Subject Index List and the Media Reserve Notebook. See the Media Lab page for more information. MEDIA LIBRARIAN: Contact the Media Librarian for questions regarding media services or staff, the media collection, copyright regulations, purchase requests, and/or for consultation on the best ways to meet classroom audiovisual needs.
