FaST Summer 2004:
Faculty Student Teams at LBL

Linux and HPC introductory topics were the area of focus of the 2004 team. The team is composed of Tom Murphy who is the faculty leader. The student team members were Martin Robel, Adam Barlev, and Bassam Aldabari. They were joined by Ben Rosenberg, a high school student from Hayward High.

Tom's report(word file) outlines the overall activities of the summer. LBL internal communication also reported on the activities of Tom's 2004 FaST team.

We developed the start of a series of 16 two hour standalone lab exercises for use with the Knoppix CD and the Bootable cluster CD. This is a way of exploring Linux and clusters using existing computing infrastructure, i.e. a lab of Windows workstations.
