Pre-screening begins Monday, August 10th, 2015
Direct Loan Instructions
1st Time Direct Loan Borrowers: Complete the below (2) items.
1) Direct Loan Online Entrance Exam at www.studentloans.gov
2) Electronic Master Promissory Note at www.studentloans.gov
3) Complete the attached Direct Loan Request (available after loan pre-screening at The Office of Financial Assistance front counter) and turn the completed request in at the Office of Financial Assistance front counter.
Continuing Direct Loan Borrowers:
1) Complete the Direct Loan Request (available after loan pre-screening at The Office of Financial Assistance front counter) and turn the completed request form in at the Office of Financial Assistance front counter.
Need Online Help? Visit the Financial Aid Lab. Log-on
to contracosta.edu and “click” Financial Aid for dates and times the lab will be open.
Direct Loan Disbursement Calendar

Single Term Loans may be disbursed in (2) separate payments.
Documentation Deadline: (Fall 2015) Monday, November 2, 2015 (by 4:30pm)
*No Exceptions! (Spring 2016) Monday, April 4, 2016 (by 4:30pm)
Incomplete documents will not be processed.

Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP-Stafford Loan)
If you have previously taken out a FFELP Stafford Loan from our institution and would like to find information about your loan account, repayment options and much more, please use the same contact information listed above under the Direct Loan Program. All FFELP Stafford loans have been converted to Direct Loans and sold to the Department of Education.
If you have taken out a Direct Loan and plan to graduate May of the current academic year or have already graduated from Contra Costa College, you are required to complete the Online Direct Loan Exit Counseling. During your exit counseling, you will be provided with information on the different repayment plans, deferment and forbearance options and much more!
