Construction Updates

Castro Road: Work on the Sanitary Sewer Line on the east side of the road (Parking Annex side of the road) will continue until Thursday (8/14/14) and will not require a full road closure. Pedestrian access will be diverted to the west side of the street until the new sidewalk has been installed. Directional signage will be installed as needed.

Library Drive: Patch paving the open trench that runs across the street (currently covered with steel plates) will occur either Wednesday (8/13/14) or Thursday (8/14/14). This work will only take a few hours and will require a full road closure of Library Drive. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout this work. Directional signage will be installed to divert vehicular traffic.

The retrofit work scheduled for summer on the Physical and Biological Science buildings has been completed. There is now full access to the  buildings. Punch list items and miscellaneous touch-ups will be worked on for another month. Parking lot 12 will be closed the rest of this week, for slurry seal on Thursday and striping on Friday. Parking lot 13 will be closed the rest of the month. However, both lots are accessible to foot traffic.

The replacement of the Physical Science roof started last week, and is projected to be completed by the end of the month. There may be some noise and/or smell during construction. Once again, thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Construction Update – New College Center 5/15/2014 1:22 PM

As the semester winds down, the work on the New College Center continues. Rough grading of the construction site and off-hauling from the site have been completed. Installation of the infrastructure is ongoing, and so is the preparation of the foundation.

When everyone returns next Fall semester, there should be steel columns already installed for the Classroom Building. For up-to-the minute updates, please refer to the job-site cameras on the college website.

Have a great summer!
