Instruction and intercollegiate competition will be offered in many sports (two units as an instructional course). Some of these courses are primarily for men, others primarily for women.

 

PE IC 100- Topics in Intercollegiate Athletics

.5-3 units: lecture and/or laboratory hours, CR/NC, DG

This supplemental course in intercollegiate athletics is designed to provide a study of various topics, to be announced each term in the current course schedule. This course may be repeated three times.

PE IC 160- Intercollegiate Football

2 units: 10 hours activity, LR, DG

Played by men's intercollegiate rules. This course may be taken three times for credit.

PE IC 162- Intercollegiate Basketball

1-2 units: 5-10 hours activity, LR, DG

Played by men's intercollegiate basketball rules. This course may be taken three times for credit.

PE IC 164- Intercollegiate Baseball

2 units: 10 hours activity, LR, DG

Played by men's intercollegiate baseball rules. This course may be taken three times for credit.

PE IC 166- Intercollegiate Track

2 units: 10 hours activity, LR, DG

Played by men's intercollegiate track rules. This course may be taken three times for credit.

PE IC 167- Intercollegiate Track

2 units: 10 hours activity, LR, DG

Played by women's intercollegiate track rules. This course may be taken three times for credit.

PE IC 180- Intercollegiate Men's Soccer

2 units: 10 hours activity, LR, DG

This course is designed to enhance the skills and strategies of advanced male soccer players. Emphasis is placed on mental, physical, tactical, and technical aspects of the game in order to compete successfully in match play. This course may be taken three times for credit.

PE IC 181- Intercollegiate Women's Soccer

2 units: 10 hours activity, LR, DG

This course is designed to enhance the skills and strategies of advanced female soccer players. Emphasis is placed on mental, physical, tactical, and technical aspects of the game in order to compete successfully in match play. This course may be taken three times for credit.

PE IC 182- Intercollegiate Basketball

1-2 units: 5-10 hours activity, LR, DG

Played by women's intercollegiate basketball rules. This course may be taken three times for credit.

PE IC 201- Intercollegiate Softball

2 units: 10 hours activity, SC, DG

Played by Amateur Softball Association rules. This course may be taken three times for credit.

Note: normally offered in the Spring

PE IC 203- Women's Intercollegiate Volleyball

2 units: 10 hours activity, LR, DG

Played by women's intercollegiate volleyball rules. This course may be taken three times for credit.

Note: normally offered in the Fall

PE IC 298- Independent Study

.2-4 units: SC, DG

Prerequisite:educational contract of study signed by an instructor, department chair and college dean. Topics must extend beyond regular course offerings.

This course is designed for selected students to pursue independent study in Intercollegiate Athletics under the direction of an instructor.
