Clinical experience is given under the supervision of Contra Costa College dental assisting faculty in cooperating dental practices and School of Dentistry dental clinics. Students must earn a grade of "C" or better in all courses to continue in and to graduate from the program. Information regarding the program may be obtained from the Dental Assisting Department (AA-206), the LAVA Division Office (library) or the Nursing Department (HS-103).

The Dental Assisting Department strongly recommends that students complete the following courses prior to entry into the program:

2. MATH 101

3. BOT 210A or BOT 221 or CIS 110 or CIS 135.

Students who wish to earn an A.S. degree in Dental Assisting may do so by completing additional general education requirements. For additional information consult with your counselor and refer to the IGETC list of courses in the current college catalog.
