The purpose of the Staff Development program is to promote personal, professional and organizational growth for the employees of California's community college system. The State Chancellor's Office believes that the skills and knowledge gained through staff development activities can increase employee motivation and effectiveness, thereby helping promote "student and employee retention and to support and advance the teaching and learning objectives of the California Community Colleges."
The Staff Development Office at Contra Costa College is housed in the College Resource Center (CRC) in the Library (upstairs on the mezzanine). With the guidance of the Staff Development Committees, the CRC plans, promotes, and hosts training workshops and other professional development activities for faculty, staff and managers.
Although the majority of workshops are held during Fall and Spring Flex weeks, programs are also held thoughout the academic year (see Calendar for monthly listings).
