Alternative High School Career Day
October 13, 2005 @ 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.



    Participating Schools:
    Delta, Kappa, Omega, Sigma, North Campus, Gompers, Adult Ed.

    Eligible Students: Grades 11th and 12th
    11th and 12th grade students will visit Contra Costa College to learn about career training programs offered at the College that can lead to industry certification and or AA degree. Students may chose to visit one of the following Career program:

    Service Career
  • Administration of Justice
  • Early Childhood Care
  • Culinary Arts


    Medical Careers
  • Nursing
  • Dental Assisting


    Multimedia
  • Graphics
  • Video/Journalism


    Technical Career
  • Automotive Mech. Tech.
  • Automotive Collision Repair


    Business
  • Business Office Tech
  • Computer Information Systems

Friday, November 4, 2005, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.  Three Seasons Restaurant, CCC
Overview of Articulation Process.
Begin Working with your Articulation Partner.
 
Friday, November 18, 2005, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Partner instructors meet to compare curriculum and develop articulation agreements.
 
Friday, December 8, 2005, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Partner instructors meet to finalize agreement and develop implementation plan and timeline.
 
 
Rooms for meetings will be announced once they are reserved.

Technology Career Conference
January 12, 2006 @ 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.



Participating Schools:
DeAnza, El Cerrito, Hercules, John F. Kennedy, Pinole Valley, Richmond, Middle College.

Eligible Students: Students enrolled in designated tech classes/contact your school career center after October 28, 2005 for a list of these classes.

Students will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from Bio-Tech, Medical, Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Technology, Communication, Business and Financial Industries. They will learn about career opportunities and training requirements in these industries. Sign-up information: (available in career center).
