Distance Education: ONLINE Classes: An Online class is an alternative mode of course instruction taught by an instructor via the computer. Most online classes can be completed by attending one or two campus meetings with the majority of class sessions completed online. Students will submit assignments, take quizzes, participate in discussions, and more.

Distance Education: TELECOURSES: Students attend approximately six on-campus class meetings taught by a CCC instructor, view a professionally-produced video series, study course materials and complete assignments.

Community Education Program: Want to take a class at a location near your home? Classes in the community are offered for credit at local high schools in the WCCCSD and for non-credit at senior centers, churches and other local agencies.

Alternative scheduled/short term Classes: Want to get a jump start on the Summer session? Intersession is for you! Want to increase your load or need a class that starts later in the term or ends early? Want more flexible class choices? Then our Alternative schedule is for you! Short-term classes cover the same material as full-term classes, but move at a faster pace. Short-term and Alternative scheduled classes are scheduled throughout the semester.

Fee-Based Classes: Fee-based courses are non-credit and open to everyone, including the community.

PACE Program: Have a busy schedule? Try a Weekend class. Weekends at CCC can help you achieve your goals. PACE stands for Program for Adult College Education. Contra Costa College offers a pre-planned program of study whose goal is to help students complete in five semesters and two summers all the requirements for an Associate in Arts degree with a transferable major in Liberal Studies. In the PACE program, the students progress as a group, in a built-in learning community. Courses are offered in blocks to help students complete a minimum of 60 units of degree-credit coursework, including all the requirements for the major and the general education breadth requirements. PACE offers courses via distance education, in classes one or two nights a week, and on Saturdays. Orientations for the PACE program occur in LA-106 at the dates and times listed to the right.

For more information about the PACE program, contact the coordinator, Lee Brelie, at (510) 23-7800 exr. 4332, or by email at lbrelie@contracosta.edu.
