Contra Costa College distributes about $267,000 annually in scholarships to first, second year students and third year(junior) transfering students who will be attending an accredited College, University or Private Institution of higher education. The students who receive these scholarships have no less than an cumulative GPA(Grade Point Average) of 3.00 or higher, and demonstrate leadership abilities, academic achievement, community involvement, participation in school activities, potential to succed in their future field of study, show strength of character and initiative, and demonstrate financial need. Students do not have to qualify for financial aid to be eligible for some scholarships. Some scholarships are based on scholastic achievement with higher scholastic aptitude only. Scholarships like grants do not have to be repaid. Scholarships have
to be reported to the office of Financial Aid as soon as the student is
