Curriculum

Educational programs are offered in both the Traditional early childhood curricular method as well as the Montessori method. These approaches to learning allow children to grow and enhance their developmental skills through a variety of experiences that meet their social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs. Planned activities are designed to encourage free exploration, experimentation, logical thinking and reasoning, as well as creativity in a fun, safe, and child-centered setting.

Traditional Curriculum
The Traditional approach provides developmentally appropriate learning experiences arranged in the areas of language arts, math, science, social studies, music, creative art, and dramatic play. Activities are based on the individual interests of the child derived from recorded observations. Emphasis is on social interaction as well as concept building. The primary role of the teacher is to plan the activities, interact with the children and guide them in all areas of their development.

Montessori Curriculum
The Montessori approach provides developmentally appropriate experiences arranged in the areas of practical life, sensorial, language, math, science, geography, music, art, and dramatic play. Activities are carried out with Montessori materials that are designed to be used repeatedly to aid the child in constructing concepts and skills. Emphasis is on individualized lessons and a structured sequence of curriculum. The primary role of the teacher is to observe and guide the children in all areas of their development in a prepared environment containing the Montessori curriculum materials.
