Distance Learning is instruction in which instructor and student are separated by place and/or time, and in which they interact through the use of one or more type of communication media. It's a more flexible option to coursework in a traditional classroom, allowing students to fit learning time more easily into a busy schedule of work and family obligations.
Contra Costa College offers distance learning courses via telecourse and the Internet. Distance learning courses are indicated as such in the department listings as well as on a separate Distance Learning page in the course schedule for each semester.
Students who usually do well in a distance learning course are those who like to learn independently, are self-motivated, and have good study skills. Take this short self-assessment test to see if Distance Learning is for you.
